The Wright Kids - Country, blue grass and more

Mason and Sage got a little brother on April 20, 1999. In 8 months, Baruch (pronounced bare'-uk ) would be walking before he could crawl. This kept everybody busy, especially mom, running around behind him to catch him if he fell. Baruch was all boy and when he wasn't running after Mason and Sage, he was playing with cars, trucks, and a little plastic guitar. The guitar was one of his favorites because he could do anything with it. He could ride it, mow grass with it, occasionally vacuum and sometimes play it as an instrument.

Baruch would eventually move into a ukelele, an instrument not usually found in bluegrass music. But, when restrung and tuned to a mandolin, it became, perhaps the world's first, mandolele. The instrument produced a soft tone when strummed with fingers and did not compete with other accompanying instruments. Baruch learned a few chords but focused mostly on keeping time and strumming open strings.

By age 2, Baruch discovered the joy of singing and began learning Sage's songs. The mandolele was a constant companion when singing. At age 3, Baruch would join Mason and Sage on the stage. Baruch ended his debut performance with an unrehearsed tip of the hat and a surprisingly long bow to the audience. The crowd continued to roar with applause as Sage had to nudge Baruch to stand back up. Baruch would keep the tipping of the hat for many shows to come. What a showman!

Now, Baruch adds rhythm guitar to songs in every set. Baruch's singing and guitar playing earned first place in the youth band competition at the world's oldest and largest fiddler's convention, the 2006 Galax Old Fiddler's Convention. He performed with Sage and 4 year old brother Levi in the competition. This can be viewed on YouTube Young Mountain Harmony
